Plant science research in Switzerland covers a vast range of fields. From molecular dimensions to ecosystem level, from basic to applied science. All researchers share the same interest: finding answers to the many unsolved plant related questions related to plant breeding, conservation, ecology, genetics, health physiology and systematics.

Some research groups focus on chemical compounds, single genes, species, populations or ecosystems, while others investigate the complex interactions that arise among plants or between plants and other organisms. The researchers carry out their work in labs or on field sites in Switzerland and in other parts of the world.

Each research portfolio on the SwissPlantScienceWeb presents a group leader who works at a Swiss university.

The portfolios illustrate the broad range of research in plant sciences.
