Call for papers: Annual Meeting GfÖ Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Call for papers and online registration is open for the 50th Annual Meeting of the GfÖ (to be held  from 30 August to 1 September 2021).

Due to the pandemic, we have opted for a fully virtual format of the conference. We have chosen an online conference platform, which besides hosting our sessions, lectures and posters also offers good networking opportunities and is managed by a professional company. Hopefully, this will compensate somewhat for the lack of face-to-face exchange, which cannot be replaced by anything else.

The conference programme will be structured similarly to what you are used to from our past conferences. After a very successful call for sessions with 40 proposals, we are looking forward to receiving your abstracts. Due to the digital format, the conference is scheduled for 3 days. On each of the three conference days we will offer plenary talks, 4-5 parallel sessions and workshops.
The format of the presentations will be 15 minutes as usual (12 minutes talk and 3 minutes for discussion). To ensure that the sessions run smoothly, safely and on schedule, speakers will be asked to pre-record their talks, while questions from the audience can be answered live. Thus sessions will be ‘simulive’ with pre-recorded talks and live interactions and engagement.
In order to stimulate discussions between the participants and the oral and poster presenters, the conference offers virtual "debate lounges" (called "Meet the Speakers" or "Meet the Poster Presenter"). These will provide an opportunity to meet the speakers or those who have presented posters for further discussion and questions.

In order to submit a paper with title and abstract, please complete the on-line registration as a first step. Information on how to submit a paper and how to register can be found on the conference webpage https://www.gfoe-conference.de/index.php?cat=callforpapers

Deadline for abstract submission and early bird registration: 25 June 2021.
All scientific sessions will be recorded on the day of the livestreaming, and will be available in a video-on-demand format for up to 3 weeks after the conference. All videos on demand are only accessible to registered GfÖ conference participants.
A first draft of the scientific programme can be found on the conference website
