European Conference of Tropical Ecology 2023

Tropical ecology: many species, many challenges. 34th Annual Meeting of the Society for Tropical Ecology (Gesellschaft für Tropenökologie, gtö).

Join tropical ecologists from around the world in June 2023 for Europe’s largest and the most welcoming conference dedicated to tropical ecology.

Tropical regions are hotspots for tremendous amount of biodiversity. While the roots of tropical ecology can be traced to the adventurous voyages of European naturalists in late 19th and early 20th centuries, the tropical ecology has changed over the time. Most research has been done on species richness, however new methods and new ideas how to study tropical ecology, and protect tropical diversity, appears. The burgeoning research of the tropics has led to increased conservation education and programs devoted to the climate.

The conference will be organized in collaboration with Faculty of Science of University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice, Biology Centre of Czech Academy of Sciences and with help of The Czech Society for Ecology.
